The power of composition

I believe other people will share the feeling, when possibly only music can sooth your state of mind. Then you search incessantly for the correct track. To reverse your mood? To intensify it? The power of good composition is when you can find it serindipitously in a song you never cared too much in a list of 50+ great ones, where you certainly have 20 closer to your heart. Just by the chords. Just by the timing. Even when it’s quiet uptown…

It must be nice, it must be nice…Lin-Manuel Miranda…to be able to leave this world knowing that you left sparkles of beauty, poetry and joy in your extensive body of work. A work of quality, a work of inclusiveness, a work of originality…

And it reminds me why it was worth to go by myself to watch Hamilton in a city and country I don’t live in. And why it made sense to book tickets one year in advance, despite being surrounded by confused and laughing faces that perhaps cannot be touched the same way by art.

Let’s teach us our kids about art. Let’s help them understand it. Let’s help them seek it. Maybe the world would be a more positive, inclusive and open space.

One of the 50+ masterpieces of Hamilton. Comes right after It’s Quiet Uptown, to surprise you when you feel blue!
